Once upon a time...

In a land far far away, there lived a king and a queen and their four beautiful children... Unfortunately they were way too boring to write about, so you're all stuck with the Dimmock's instead!

We're a bit of a fractured fairytale.I can't promise to update every day...I'm a bit slack like that (shhh), but I'll do my best to keep it up.

And they all lived happily ever after...well that's the plan at least :oP

Saxon's birthday post...

Yes, I'm aware it's 2 months late. Hush your mouth :oP

First photo. 7 weeks premature, 5lbs 3ozs.

Curls!

When I close my eyes and think of Saxon, this is what I see...

No curls :o(

And one from a couple weeks ago...this is his "canky and angy" face.

I'll be back. I have a little catching up to do.

They sell everything at Bunnings...

A conversation with Wyatt the other day... (Bunnings is a giant hardware store, btw. Handy mans Heaven - they sell everything).

Wyatt: I don't like Jasper anymore.

Mummy: Why not? He's a good cat.

Wyatt: No he's not. He jumps on me and I don't like it. I want a new cat now.

Mummy: You're not having a new cat, Wyatt. Pets are a part of the family. You can't just give them away cuz you're sick of them. You wouldn't give Daddy away just because he annoyed you, would you?

Wyatt: Yes I would. And I'd get a new one.

Mummy: Where are you going to get a new Daddy from??

Wyatt: Bunnings!

Daddy better watch himself...

Take my yapper!

I love toddler speak. Right now, Saxon's R's and L's come out as Y's. He tells me he "yoves" me, and calls Rabby "Yabby". And at the park the other day he threw his Freddo Frog packet in my face yelling "Take my yapper!"...which has become Auntie Teagie's new catch phrase!

Funny thing is though...when he says "yellow", which actually starts with a Y, so you'd think he'd pronounce correctly...it comes out "lellow" lol. He really is the cutest thing ever.

I'm going to be heartbroken the day he can pronounce all his letters properly :o(

I'm baaaaack!!

Not that I actually went anywhere, physically. Well I did, for a week...but that was almost a month ago. I've just been mentally MIA (nothing unusual there, you say!). Since I was here last time, I've been to InspireMe 2010, and failed to be overly inspired, although I made lots of awesome new friends. I've shot my first newborn twin session. And I decided it was time to bite the bullet and start shooting whole families. My first session is tomorrow, so we'll see how it goes. I've started a new 365 - a freestyle type deal this time. No themes, just shoot what I feel like. And it's WAY harder than shooting a theme. Even a sucky theme.

I think I've lost my mojo a little bit. Or a lot. I don't know. I do know that I use many very short sentences these days. Haha.

Anywho...the boys had a moment this morning when we were leaving to go grocery shopping, and they didn't want to stay with Mama. So in a desperate bid to distract them while we made a run for the car, we let them open a birthday pressie from Grandma and Grandpa in England. Only a little bit early. Shhhhh... Wyatt's was a Roary the Racing Car book. Very cool. He made me sit down and do the whole thing with him this afternoon. He's a very clever boy. He's not even in grade 1 yet and he's reading and doing maths at a level I don't remember the older kids reaching until probably yr 2. He obviously takes after me ;o)

This is his "concentrating really hard" face...

And his "Are you in there, Elmo?" face...

And his "good try" sticker...he chose this one because he tried his best and that's good :o)

Night all! xx

30. And we're done!

30 posts. 50 photo's. Nawww, don't thank me...it was nothing. Really. Stop...you're makin' me blush!

Adiós Amigos!

A little about us...ok, mostly me...

Hey there! I'm guessing that most people who drop by to visit us here already know who we are, but just in case...

My name's Nikki. I'm mum to 4 (yeah, 4...can you believe it? No, me either *shudder*) kids, aged from 16 down to 4. My husband, Steff, is originally from the UK - I stole him away from the cold and the damp to live in Central Queensland, where he must endure almost endless sunshine and blue skies. Somehow he manages ;o)

I started this blog as a way to keep family in England up to date with our comings and goings. And it lets me show off how cute the kids are getting!

A little about me...I'm a professional photographer, I'm obsessive about Buffy the Vampire Slayer, love Harry Potter, Sookie Stackhouse (only book Sookie, not True Blood Sookie. It's an important distinction!), (the 10th) Doctor Who, cupcakes, and Spuffy fanfic (although not necessarily in that order). I'm also an extreme perfectionist with a love of the creative and original, who has a very low tolerance for stupidity. If you ask my husband, he'll tell you I'm a huge snob - I'm really not. I just think I'm better than everyone else :oP (That's a joke, ok? Pretty much).

Oh, and please leave a comment to tell me how fabulous you think I am...it makes me write faster and more often ;o) No really...that part wasn't a joke...
