Once upon a time...

In a land far far away, there lived a king and a queen and their four beautiful children... Unfortunately they were way too boring to write about, so you're all stuck with the Dimmock's instead!

We're a bit of a fractured fairytale.I can't promise to update every day...I'm a bit slack like that (shhh), but I'll do my best to keep it up.

And they all lived happily ever after...well that's the plan at least :oP

Saxon speak.

For a long time, our littlest monkey didn't say much at all. He's certainly making up for it now though. He talks...and talks...and talks some more. And then occasionally, just to shake things up a little...he yells. LOUDLY! Through all of this though, he's very economical with his words. As in one word often has several different meanings, depending on the context. For example...

Lola: Almost anything with 4 legs. Cow, pig, dog, and the occasional fish.
Maxxy: A dog that's not Lola.
Meow: Cat.
Nanna: Any adult relative that isn't Mummy or Daddy. Occasionally extends to "Nannadad".
Dinkle: Chocolate chips. Or the things on your fingers after you've spent an hour in the bath - "Waahhhhhhhh MUMMMYYYY my fingers are all dinkelly!!"
Elmoo: Furry little red guy who hangs out on Sesame St, and also the part of your arm between your hand and your shoulder.
Yay: Yes, yeah, yep, ok. He actually started saying "Yeah" a few weeks ago. But don't worry...only took me a few days of (un?)correcting before he went back to "yay". Now when I say yes to him he corrects me "Say Yay Mummy!"
My yove you soooo much Mummy: I want something.
Daddy say NO! (or Yay!): I'm going to keep doing whatever it is I'm doing and tell you that Daddy said I'm allowed too.
I not yove it!(usually accompanied by a "hmph" sound and crossed arms: I really hate that.
Yabby/Brother/Wyatt did it: I did it, but I'd rather you yelled at them :oP
Yabby: Grayson aka Rabbit/Rabby.
Brother: Gaige. Wyatt also calls him Brother.
Magic Word: Please.
Ta-pease: Thank you.
Beeboo: Boobie or belly button.

But he's so cute...seriously. I could just burst sometimes, I love him so much. And he has his Daddy wrapped around that tiny little finger so tight!

Sharing the remains of Lilli's lollipop at the park last week... (other photo's from this session can be found over on my biz blog. The link is up the top there).

His "Froggy" that they found on the front steps after school the other day. Wyatt ran away screaming like a big girl, but Grayson caught him and Saxon loved him! Poor little guy couldn't hop away fast enough...

Wait...don't go!

You're in the right place...we just had a makeover! What can I say...I was bored!

And now it's late, so I'm going to bed. I'll be back tomorrow with some new photo's, I promise.

Night all! xox

Look who's all grown up!

Wyatt Zane had his first day of prep today. There were many tears. Thankfully none of them were Wyatt's!

He handled it very well actually...came home and told me that he had a good day, but he wouldn't be going back, thank you very much! He doesn't like wearing his shoes all day (at kindy they only needed to wear them to and from their classrom. They played in their bare feet all day). He asked me to buy him air-conditioned socks, but apparently they're broken :o(

It's like all of a sudden he's a big boy. He came home and made himself and Saxon a sandwich. I asked if I could help and he told me "No thank you Mummy. I have everything perfectly under control". *sniff* I want my baby back!

And one from the other day...

And with his monkey brother!

We'll be off to do it all over again tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Happy New Year!

Yeah ok...so it's 14 days old now, but I think we've already covered the fact that I'm a bit slow (shutup Stephan!).

Just a few from yesterday (the one of Gaige was actually Sunday, he wasn't with us yesterday). We took the kids to the Marina to take my 365 photo (the theme is "Sun" this week, in case you're interested).

Oh...and I have a new blog! It's my shiny new official "business" blog...and it's all grown up! I'm so pleased with it. It looks clean and fresh and professional (I think anyway), and it's so much more customizable than blogger. And check it out...attached to my website, so my URL's match :o) Yes...it's the simple things that excite me (obviously - I married Steff, right? Ha!). The only thing that I don't love about it is that I lost all my comments in the changeover *sniff*. And I had lots of lovely ones. So if you're bored...you could always head over there and comment on a few posts for me. It's here - Shiny new blog! The link is up the top on this blog as well. And from that blog, you'll find links to both my actual website and my 365 blog.

You really do need to keep up with all of them, because I don't always cross post - so you're more than likely missing out on lots of pics of the kids by only visiting one of them. And I update my biz blog more than this one (obviously because I'm a slacker), and my 365 is updated every. single. day. Without fail. And will be for the next 74 days. When I'll be finished. Hallelujah!

Anywho...enjoy your update :o)

Gaige...playing with backlighting. Which I love. Alot. Even though it's going to send me blind.

Grayson...proof she's a monster. She has tentacles!

Wyatt...needs a haircut I think.

Saxon...is just beautiful :o)

Yes...I suck.

I've been a little busy for the last few months, and unfortunately my other blogs have taken priority over this one. I'll try to do better though, I promise!

In any case...I hope everyone is having the merriest of Christmasses (is that a word?), and that your new year is nothing but happy :o)

A few recents of the kids...

Gaige...

Grayson...

Together (make the most of this one...doesn't happen often!)

Wyatt...

Dressed as Elroy Jetson...

Dressed himself!

Saxon...

Saying "cheese"!

And on his bug bike...

I'll try not to leave it so long between visits in future, but please check out my 365 blog and my IPQ Art blog. They're updated often :o)

A word of warning...

This is a rather touchy subject for me. I'm NOWHERE near seeing the funny side of this situation. In fact, I highly doubt that I ever will. So please refrain from the following...

a) Making "witty" remarks. I won't think you're clever. Or funny. Not even a little bit.
b) Telling me that it's "only" hair and it'll grown back. It will NOT make me feel better.
c) Telling me that it's about time he had a haircut anyway because he looked like a girl. Yeah...steer WAY clear of that one.
d) Telling me he's still cute and you even like it better like this. Just DO NOT go there.

The above recommendations will stay in place for ohhh...I reckon forever? Yeah. Forever is good for me.

Apparently Wyatt has "always wanted to be a hairdresser", and decided to begin his apprenticeship on Saturday morning.

What Saxon looked like last week...

What Saxon looked like by Saturday afternoon...

Yeah...freakin hilarious.

What Saxon looks like now...

I don't even have the words to express how utterly heart sick I am over this.

Happy Father's Day...

To all the Aussie dads :o) Just a couple of photo's today.

The cupcakes Wyatt took for "Father's Night" at kindy. With sugar cookie french fries :o) I made it all, including the packaging!

And the best father of all...my wonderful, beautiful, amazing husband. I *heart* him so much! (Not a new pic...it was taken in Hervey Bay in July, but I love it, so I'm posting it again).

And making out with Saxon for my 365 a few weeks ago...

And yesterday...this is pretty much how our life is...

I hope all the dad's out there had a lovely day :o)

A little about us...ok, mostly me...

Hey there! I'm guessing that most people who drop by to visit us here already know who we are, but just in case...

My name's Nikki. I'm mum to 4 (yeah, 4...can you believe it? No, me either *shudder*) kids, aged from 16 down to 4. My husband, Steff, is originally from the UK - I stole him away from the cold and the damp to live in Central Queensland, where he must endure almost endless sunshine and blue skies. Somehow he manages ;o)

I started this blog as a way to keep family in England up to date with our comings and goings. And it lets me show off how cute the kids are getting!

A little about me...I'm a professional photographer, I'm obsessive about Buffy the Vampire Slayer, love Harry Potter, Sookie Stackhouse (only book Sookie, not True Blood Sookie. It's an important distinction!), (the 10th) Doctor Who, cupcakes, and Spuffy fanfic (although not necessarily in that order). I'm also an extreme perfectionist with a love of the creative and original, who has a very low tolerance for stupidity. If you ask my husband, he'll tell you I'm a huge snob - I'm really not. I just think I'm better than everyone else :oP (That's a joke, ok? Pretty much).

Oh, and please leave a comment to tell me how fabulous you think I am...it makes me write faster and more often ;o) No really...that part wasn't a joke...
